    1-8 August 2025 I can’t keep calm it’s fair week. According to Dictionary.com the first recorded use of the word fair is just before the year 900, spelled faeger meaning “beautiful, attractive”. It appears in another use around the year 1300 spelled freire, meaning “religious festival, holiday”. Both these definitions describe my recent week volunteering at The Somerset County 4-H Fair.
