Kiwis and Fairy Bread

On Dec. 27th, 1989, Mike and I met at party at my sister Carol’s house in Forked River New Jersey. We talked and read poetry aloud late into the night. It was wonderful. Today, 34 years later, here we are on the other side of the world, in the Southern Alps of New Zealand where we walked more than 10 miles, talked with new friends, and watched the stars late into the night. 26 December 2023 With a warm good bye to the Claxtons we started our drive out of Akaroa, and promptly realized we needed gas. I mean, we really needed gas. But it was Boxing Day, the day-after-Christmas holiday when shops are still closed and most people in NZ head out for some fun.
