Scenery. Stunning scenery. Mountains, glaciers, lush valleys, rain forests, lakes, rivers and seas. A night sky densely packed with stars we’ve never seen before. Long December days and the summer solstice. The Hobbiton Movie Set. Kayaking in Milford Sound. Spending Christmas with the locals. Soaking in hot mineral pools. The ferry trip across Cook’s Straight. Learning to pronounce words in the Māori language. Spotting native birds like kiwis and keas. Eating fairy bread! Our little campervan and making it feel like a home. The two of us together.
